The idle sounded VERY Stable. and I would not expect a stable idle with the timing jumping around like that. You can also use an Extension on the Spark Plug wire, and leave the coil pack laying on the Intake and clip the lead on the Spark Plug Wire Extension. I like the Old School timing lights that arnt so smrt. as I usually get screwed up when trying to trust them.. Also.. if you are dealing with timing at Idle.. did you check the TPS Voltage?.. RPM should be down at 700ish RPM and 15 Deg in Idle Mode, ( .45 volt at TPS and TPS Switch Closed ) If the Idle is higher then the 700ish range, then the TPS is a suspect in my book Cj
